Framlingham Sewage Treatment

If you are off the mains then you soon get used to having large lorries turn up occasionally. Either to refill the oil tank for your heating, or to desludge your septic tank. When you don't have the convenience of having access to the main sewerage system, you have to find another way of dealing with waste water.

Of course, you may not be used to this at all, if you have just moved or are converting an old barn into your dream home, you may have thought about it, but considered it a minor issue. To be honest, it should be a minor issue, nothing to worry about. But you should pay attention to it.

If you rely on a isolated sewage treatment system (septic tank or similar) then since April 2010 there have been some changes to the law and if you need a new septic tank, or your existing septic tank comes to be replaced, you will need to take note. Obviously, we at MJ Service are experts in isolated sewage treatment systems and will advise you of what you need and how much maintenance will be required. Until April 2010 no guidelines existed to legally define the required effectiveness and performance of septic tanks or any other domestic sewage treatment system.

Different manufacturers had no clear guidelines about how to test the performance of their systems. They could make any claim about how their products would process waste water as there was no consistent guidelines explaining how these things should be measured and tested. Apart from leaving the end user totally bewildered by the confusing information it also meant that there was no enforcement of laws designed to protect the environment unless there was a clear breach of acceptable standards.

The new standard EN-12566 now makes it compulsory for manufacturers to put their products through a strict range of tests carried out by an independant third party. This means that the performance of treatment plant can be accurately determined. The purpose of the tests is to identify how effectively pollution is removed from the sewage by the plant, how much maintenance will be required and power consumption. All of the sewage treatment systems which MJ Services install are EN-12566 tested and certified. This means that when you come to us for an off-mains sewage treatment system in Framlingham, Ipswich, Stowmarket or anyhere in Suffolk, you can be sure that you will have no problems with contamination.
