Klagester Products

Klargester are a well established company who specialise in sewage treatment plants, the main product being that of the Klargester BioDisc treatment plant as well as the production of their alternative Airflow treatment plant, both of which are available for domestic and commercial use.

The Klargester BioDisc system consists of rotating a biomass into and out of the sewage effluent. This biomass eventually grows, due to being in contact with the natural oxygen in the air as well as coming into contact with the bacteria in the effluent.

The BioDisc process is simple but has been proven over many years of continual development to be very effective in the drainage process. The BioDisc process also has the added advantage of having an effective flow system that can be managed easily. This allows for average use of bleach & detergents in the drainage system without directly affecting the treatment process.

Sewage treatment plants that utilize the BioDisc system offers a significantly cost-effective and flexible solution to a wide range of commercial and domestic sewage treatment applications.

The entire range of products employ Klargester’s patented Managed Flow Technology in order to enhance the overall efficiency and constant control of the treatment system.

At the core of the BioDisc process, lies Klargester's Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC) Technology, which has been developed, refined and ultimately perfected over a period of 25 years. The BioDisc units are specifically designed and engineered in order to offer the highest level of quality and reliability, combined with the lowest possible running costs.

The core structure of the BioDisc unit itself is constructed from Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP).

The biological sewage treatment occurs on the Rotating Biological Contactor (or Rotor) in the BioDisc. The Rotor consists of banks of polypropylene discs (media) attached to a horizontal steel shaft, that is coated with zinc, and is then slowly rotated by an electric motor and a gearbox.

The BioDisc has a low profile GRP cover that is arranged into different sections in order to facilitate access and maximise convenience during maintenance.

Any maintenance that is required for the BioDisc is minimal, although, it should not be neglected.

Please feel free to contact us if you are considering changing your existing sewage system, and we will be more than happy to give friendly advice on the best option available to you.
